We offer two PPL question banks. They’re built for different situations, so it helps to know which one fits yours before you buy.
Aviationexam PPL Questions is our own database. Pilots wrote it to cover all of the EASA PPL Learning Objectives, and every question comes with an explanation.
ECQB-PPL by AIRCADEMY contains the published questions from the catalogue that many aviation authorities use in their official exams.
Which PPL question bank is right for you?
The main difference is where the questions come from. Start with your exam’s catalogue, then compare the details.
Not sure which catalogue your exam uses? Your flight school or CAA can tell you. If your authority uses ECQB-PPL, choose ECQB-PPL. If it doesn’t, or you’re not sure, Aviationexam PPL Questions will prepare you for the kinds of questions you’ll meet in any European PPL exam.
Aviationexam PPL Questions: our EASA PPL question bank
Many countries use their own sets of PPL questions, there is not a unified question bank. We built this database around the EASA PPL Learning Objectives and covered all of them. As a result, it works as preparation for PPL exams in any European country.
Every question was written by an active pilot, and every question has its own explanation. You learn why an answer is right, not just which letter to pick. Our designers also made hundreds of original, high-quality graphics for the questions and explanations, which make the harder topics easier to follow.
In study mode you can work at your own pace, read the explanations and talk through topics with other students in the comments under each question. When you’re ready, exam mode runs a mock exam using the parameters set by EASA. It’s a safe place to fail.
Our statistics show you which subjects you’ve got down and which need more work. You can also go back over every question you answered wrong until it sticks.
Tested and approved by flight schools
“For us at Reykjavik Flight Academy, Aviationexam’s PPL question bank has been a remarkable find. It is a huge advantage to have access to a premade PPL specific question bank, where I must say that the questions are quite in line with what I expected.
While we understand that each state have its own variations in PPL testing, Aviationexam’s approach in creating this general PPL question bank has greatly simplified our training process as it serves as a knowledge checking tool, regardless of the individual authority variations to the questions used for testing. We highly recommend this tool to any ATO looking for a reliable and effective learning resource.”

ECQB-PPL Question Catalogue by AIRCADEMY
If your authority runs its PPL theory exams from the AIRCADEMY ECQB-PPL catalogue, this is the product for you. It contains all the published questions from the international ECQB-PPL database, kept in line with current regulations and updated regularly. AIRCADEMY reviews the questions together with aviation authorities to keep them accurate.
In Germany, questions from the DAeC catalogue are being added gradually until mid-2026, in partnership with the German Aero Club (DAeC) and Eisenschmidt. The aim is one harmonised PPL question bank for all regional aviation authorities in Germany.
We also work with several German authorities directly. Our examination software is used for official PPL theory tests in Baden-Württemberg, Hessen, Bayern, Niedersachsen, Rheinland-Pfalz and Sachsen. If you take your exam there, the exam screen will already feel familiar.
Check the language before you buy. All content is in English or German. Some authorities offer the exam in English, some only in the local language, and some in both, so check with your CAA before you buy.
