DAeC - PPL Questionnaire (Germany)

Dear students,

We would like to inform you about the upcoming changes that will be in effect 1 October 2021 and concern the PPL Questionnaire - English version of the PPL Fragenkatalog for exams in Germany, please read the information by our partner Eisenschmidt:

We are pleased to inform you that the major modifications to the DAeC questionnaire have been completed.

The DAeC Deutscher Aero Club e.V. and Eisenschmidt have reacted to the new EASA regulations, in which regulations for gliding and ballooning have been revised. The structure of the PPL questionnaire has been adapted to the new EASA Syllabus, in conjunction with the Alternative Means of Compliance (AltMoC) applicable to Germany.

The changes were done and are available in the German Questionnaire since 1 March 2021 and now we are pleased to announce that the English Questionnaire will undergo the same update from 1 October 2021.

The following has changed in the question database as a result:

-- Some questions in the licences SPL as well as BPL have been adapted and existing gaps have been filled.

-- The structure of the subject areas has changed slightly and questions have shifted so that at times there are fewer questions in the subject areas.

The question database is constantly updated and errors are corrected. This is always done in cooperation and close coordination between the DAeC, the state aviation authorities, Aviationexam and Eisenschmidt.

The DAeC questionnaire is used by the State Aviation Authorities of Hesse, Lower Saxony, Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saxony as an examination software to check the theoretical knowledge for pilots.

From 01 October, the DAeC question catalogue will be available in the English version as a modified learning and examination software.

The examination requirements (number of questions, time allowed, etc.) are shown below:

*Applicable to SPL examination:

These four subjects may be combined in one single examination paper that comprises 12 questions per subject (48 in total) and has a duration of 96 minutes. In any case, the pass rate as per point SFCL.135(c)(1) needs to be achieved for each subject.

**Applicable to BPL examination:

Content as relevant for either hot-air balloons or gas balloons, depending on the class privileges sought.
