Pilot candidates, proven by behaviour.
Your next first officers show you who they are months before they ever sit in your assessment centre. PilotDNA observes real ATPL preparation on the Aviationexam platform — discipline, learning approach, decision-making — and introduces you only to candidates who chose your airline.
How it works
- Step 1
A candidate chooses you
Candidates who pass screening and human review apply to one partner airline at a time.
- Step 2 · 30 days
You decide
Invite or release. No reply needed to decline: the window expires and the candidate is free.
- Step 3 · Up to 90 days
Your process runs
The candidate is reserved for you. Your assessment, your standards, your decision.
- Step 4
You report the outcome
Hired, not selected or did not attend — one outcome per invited candidate.
Why partner with PilotDNA
One assessment day can't show how a pilot works
Aptitude tests measure ability on a single day, and candidates prepare for that day. They can't show how someone handles months of demanding theory: steady study or last-minute bursts, how they respond to a failed attempt, whether they keep going without anyone watching. PilotDNA adds that view. It doesn't replace aptitude batteries such as DLR, COMPASS or Aon (cut-e) — it complements them.
Four sources of evidence
Every profile combines four sources: long-term study patterns in Aviationexam's EASA ATPL question bank, how the candidate works with the eTextbooks, an ICAO-scale English assessment rated by a human examiner, and a structured assessment by a qualified aviation psychologist. A person confirms every qualification and every introduction — never an algorithm alone.
A curated profile, in two steps
When a candidate applies, you receive a suitability profile: band ratings and a short summary across seven areas — study discipline, aptitude, learning approach, decision-making, self-management, communication and composure, and the psychologist's assessment. Never raw study data. If you invite the candidate, a fuller profile follows, with their renewed consent. This two-step approach builds trust on both sides: candidates share more as your interest becomes concrete, while you receive the information you need at each stage.
Free for partner airlines
PilotDNA costs partner airlines nothing: no enrolment fee, no placement fee and no fee per hire. There is no exclusivity, so you keep all your other recruitment channels, and you never get a browsable candidate pool — candidates come to you.
How we work together
Three small things keep PilotDNA working well for you. Let us know how each invited candidate's process ended, so future introductions get sharper. Share a rough selection calendar, so candidates apply when you're actually hiring. And tell us your re-application policy, so nobody applies before they're eligible. There's no obligation to hire, and you can close any process whenever you like.
Built for GDPR and the EU AI Act from day one.
Participation is strictly opt-in, limited to verified adults (18+) on the ATPL track, and never a condition of using the Aviationexam platform. Students give separate consents for participation, profiling and sharing — and sharing is consented per airline, individually. A candidate can withdraw at any time; your access to that profile ends immediately. All assessments are rated by human examiners — no automated emotion inference — and every automated recommendation passes human review before anything reaches an airline.

Frequently asked questions
- Can we browse or search the candidate pool?
- No. There is no pool access by design. You only see candidates who explicitly chose your airline and consented to share their profile with you.
- Does PilotDNA replace our own selection process?
- No. An invitation admits the candidate to your standard selection process. PilotDNA pre-filters who walks in the door; it never decides who you hire.
- What does it cost?
- Nothing, permanently. No fees in either direction — not at enrolment, not per candidate, not per hire.
- What do we commit to?
- Three things: report the outcome for every invited candidate, publish a tentative selection calendar, and state a re-application policy.
- Can a candidate apply to several airlines at once?
- No — one airline at a time. While a candidate is in your decision window or selection process, no other airline sees them.
- Are we obliged to hire, or even to respond?
- Neither. You can cancel at any time, and silence during the decision window simply releases the candidate — no action required.
- How is this legal under GDPR?
- Explicit, granular consent: separate opt-ins for participation, profiling and per-airline sharing, human review of every automated recommendation, and immediate removal on withdrawal. Full documentation for your legal team during enrolment.
Founding-partner enrolment is open.
PilotDNA is rolling out now, and candidate priority follows enrolment order — the earlier your airline joins, the earlier you see qualified candidates. Enrolment is free, non-exclusive and carries no hiring obligation.
